INDUSTRY :-
The business of producing and selling self-powered vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, farm equipment, and other commercial vehicles is refer to as Automobile Industry. This industry does not include industry related to providing after delivery services to the customer like repair shops, auto fuel filling stations, etc. The automobile industry begins in USA as early as 1769 with a creation of steam engine automobile. The first automobile with a petrol engine is manufactured by Karl Benz in 1885 in Mannheim Germany. The first American automobile manufacturing company was Duryea Motor Wagon Company in 1893 by brothers Charles and Frank Duryea. However, it was Ransom E. Olds and his Olds Motor Vehicle Company (later known as Oldsmobile) dominate the era of automobile production in US. U.S. manufacturers made important advances in the mass production of the auto by introducing cars with interchangeable machine-produced parts (one such car was created by Ransom E. Olds in 1901).
The auto industry has encouraged the development of an extensive road system, made possible the growth of suburbs and shopping centers around major cities, and played a vital role in the growth of ancillary industries such as the oil and travel businesses, etc..
